1. ComCare serves as our social safety net, assisting lower-income households with basic living expenses when breadwinners are temporarily or permanently unable to work.
2. The ComCare Annual and Trends Reports provide an overview of the number and profile of households assisted, and amounts disbursed under the ComCare schemes in each financial year (FY).
3. The FY2022 Reports highlight the following observations:
- Fewer households received ComCare assistance in FY2022 compared to FY2021 and FY2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic. This is likely due to improvements in our economy and labour market.

- On average. households on ComCare received a higher level of cash assistance in FY2022, compared to previous years. This was because MSF implemented various measures to enhance ComCare support, such as (a) providing at least six months of assistance to new ComCare Short-to-Medium Term Assistance (SMTA) clients between April and September 2022; and (b) increasing the assistance quanta for SMTA and Long-Term Assistance (LTA) from 1 Aug 2022.
