Mr Louis Ng Kok Kwang asked the Minister for Social and Family Development for each of the past five years (a) what is the number of Child Protection Service (CPS) officers; and (b) what is the mean and median number of cases that each CPS officer manages.

Answer:

Over the last 5 years, the number of Child Protection Officers has increased by about 33%, to around 60 officers in 2022. Each officer handles about 40 cases at any point in time.
