Minister for Social and Family Development, Second Minister for Health and Minister-in-Charge of Muslim Affairs Masagos Zulkifli will be visiting Indonesia from 28 to 31 August 2023. He will represent Singapore at the 30th ASEAN Socio-Cultural Community (ASCC) Council Meeting in Jakarta (28 to 29 August) and proceed to visit Malang thereafter (30 to 31 August).
The 30th ASCC Council Meeting will discuss various socio-cultural initiatives and outcome documents to be submitted to the ASEAN Leaders at the 43rd ASEAN Summit. The ASCC Council is one of three ASEAN Community Councils, the other two being the ASEAN Political-Security Community Council and ASEAN Economic Community Council.
Minister Masagos will also engage other senior Indonesian leaders and officials in Jakarta. He will then visit Malang, at the invitation of Indonesian Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture Muhadjir Effendy, to engage students from the University of Muhammadiyah.
Minister Masagos will be accompanied by officials from the Ministry of Social and Family Development and the Embassy of the Republic of Singapore in Jakarta.
