Ms Mariam Jaafar asked the Minister for Social and Family Development what has been the number of divorce cases filed in the past 15 months since the end of the circuit breaker period when the Family Justice Courts started accepting cases again.

Answer

1 The number of divorces filed since the end of the Circuit Breaker has remained relatively stable, averaging 542 cases per month. Please see Table 1 below. We would like to clarify that parties were able to file for divorce during the Circuit Breaker period.
